Here's a long overdue photo of my stall at the recent Xmas Market held in Middlesbrough Town Hall that was organised by Designers Marketplace (featuring my glamourous assistant!) It was a fun day and I met some lovely people. It has made me want to do more fairs in 2012 so I'd best start applying for some! :)

This is my submission for MASI's exhibition next month based on the theme of 'what Manchester means to me'. As most Mancunians will know, the bee is the icon of the city and the industrial revolution and the birth of computer science happened here. Also, big fuzzy bees are funny! :)

I was recently commissioned by L&Co Design in London to produce this piece for SHL, a company that specialises in psychometric tests and analysis. It is based on the theme of 'Talent Analytics' and I think it turned out pretty well. This follows SHL's recent rebranding by L&Co. Nice :)

I'm gradually filling my home with all manner of things but it lacked something important and then I twigged - I needed some plants! Quick as a flash I bought myself a lovely orchid and then we went and bought some seeds, trays and compost and got planting. I went for edible things - basil, salad leaves and mini bell peppers. I'm crossing my fingers and hoping they sprout soon.

Chocolate Making

About a fortnight ago I went to a chocolate making class. It was great fun and I made some nice chocs which I then covered in a mixture of desiccated coconut, almonds and drinking chocolate powder. This picture was taken momentarily before my other half devoured the lot :D

New Crochet Throw

I've just embarked on a new throw which will be taking pride of place on my sofa hopefully in the very near future. I was inspired by a magazine spread in a recent issue of Good Homes where they featured retro 50s style furniture and a heavy Scandinavian influence. I'll post the finished article in a few months time I imagine!

Bupa Manchester 10km Run

I recently took part in the Bupa Manchester 10km Run with people at work. We raised a whopping £385 for Christie's and I managed a record-breaking time of.... 1 hour and 14 minutes! :s

Needless to say it was the furthest I have ever run and I have vowed to hang up my trainers with immediate effect. I just about survived but my legs were aching for the following week and I ended up hobbling around like John Wayne :)

Super Duper Itsy Bitsy Fair 2010

Here's some pics of my escapade yesterday to the seaside town of Blackpool with my fellow crafter Lisa-Marie Pelosi. We shared a stall in a slightly damp marquee but the turnout was surprisingly good considering the weather :) It was a right laugh and we'll hopefully be doing another fair together very soon!! I've gotten into the habit of crocheting whilst watching the tv lately. I managed to finish off this massive throw, which is roughly about 3 by 5 feet and as you can see, I've made an attempt at a interiors styled series of photos. Last night was the first in weeks that I hadn't crocheted whilst watching the tv and I must admit, it felt odd. Ah well, onto the next one! :)

Travelling Menagerie Exhibition

As you can see from these lovely flyers designed by Anke Weckmann and Sarah Ray, the next Girls Who Draw exhibition "Travelling Menagerie" will be taking place from the 2nd of July until the 31st of July at the Here & Now Gallery on Killigrew Street down in my old stomping ground of Falmouth! The private view will be on the 2nd, between 6pm and 8pm so do pop along and check it out! :)

Latest Granny Squares Project

Now that I've got my hands on a brand new Clover crochet hook, (I lost my last one down a gap in the seat of the car somehow?), my current granny square project has been resumed. I'm making this for a friend and it's going to be for a throw to cover a double bed so it's going to take a while. It's quite nice to use more natural, earthy colours. I've made ten of these multi-coloured beauties already and they'll be paired with plain brown granny squares for the final thing. Might take a couple of weeks to get this one finished! :D

...for the 2012 London Olympics is a friendly fox that wears a pretty dapper bowler hat. In my eyes it's more representative of Britain than 2 metallic coloured things. I designed this for a quick, fun project by Bobby Solomon of Kitsune Noir. The fox's name is Albert and he enjoys a nice pot of Earl Grey tea with a scone or two for elevenses, haha!! :D

I've been neglecting my diet a bit recently with a serious lack of fruit or vegetables and eating the same boring meals so I decided to get some healthier items during my food shop yesterday. I had penne pasta with smoked salmon, cottage cheese, pickled beetroot and mixed leaf salad in a caesar dressing. Yummy! ^_^
